Amy Weiss, Principal.
Amy has managed the crisis communications strategies for some of the biggest stories in Washington. She was at the Democratic National Committee handling the campaign finance stories of 1996, just prior to her time as Deputy Assistant to the President/Deputy Press Secretary to Bill Clinton. But the White House (1997-99) and DNC (1996-97) were only two of her Washington stops. She’s also done extraordinary work as:
- Campaign manager and senior staffer for U.S. Rep. Mike Synar (D-OK)
- Director, public affairs at the international firm Burson-Marsteller working for Fortune 500 clients
- Senior vice president, communications, Recording Industry Association of America (2000-2005), directing the long-term and short-term communications strategy on intellectual property, First Amendment rights, and digital music
- Communications director at the Center for National Policy (1988-92), serving under Center Chairman Edmund S. Muskie, and Presidents L. Kirk O’Donnell and Madeleine K. Albright
- Oregon press secretary for the Clinton/Gore campaign (1992)
Most recently, Amy was executive director of the Better World Campaign (BWC) and vice president for public affairs at the United Nations Foundation – an organization dedicated to supporting the UN and strengthening the relationship between the UN and the United States.
Amy is a graduate of The American University and studied at Birkbeck College in London.
Communicator. Advocate. Coalition-builder. Strategist. Amy Weiss.
